 Announcement No.43 of AQSIQ on Preventing the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Epidemic Disease of Vietnamese from Spreading into our Country

It is reported by WHO on 21st April, two cases of H5N1have been confirmed in Vietnam on 6th and 9th,April , 119 cases are found in it(the mortality rate is 49.6%).In order to prevent HPAI from spreading into our country and protect the health and safety of our citizens who are heading for Vietnam, this announcement is promulgated as follows in accordance with the Frontier Health Quarantine Law of the People Republic of China and its specific rules for implementation.

 

1. In case people who coming from Vietnam have the symptoms, such as fever, cough, headache, they shall report to the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Institution initiatively when entering the territory. It should consult the doctor immediately provided that  the above symptoms are discovered and report the latest travel experience so as to get the diagnosis and treatment in time.

 

2. The sanitary quarantine work of body temperature inspection, medical tour supervision should be strictly applied by officers of the frontier port to the entry of citizens from the prevailing area, adopting careful inspection to the persons who are declared or inspected the said symptoms and taking prompt medical treatment to the contractors and the suspect ones.

  

3. People who prepare to leave for the above mentioned areas may consult the entry-exit inspection quarantine authotities and the international travel health centers about the relevant information, or view the Health Quarantine and Travel Health column on the AQSIQ website. (http://www.aqsiq.gov.cn).It shall consult the doctor without delay and immediately notify the inspection and quarantine authotities  if the related case is discovered during the traveling.

 

4. The inspection and quarantine authotities  shall strengthen the work of propaganda and knowledge of prevention control, raising the awareness of the disease prevention , people who are heading for the mentioned area should avoid contacting the infected poultry and dejecta or the soil polluted by their dejecta , avoid eating raw or uncooked poultry meat, appropriate prevention control such as poultry breeding, sale, slaughtering should be adopted at the disease outbreak area meanwhile wearing masks and gloves at the processing area , washing hands frequently and implementing disinfected treatment to the area and articles which are possibly polluted by HPAI virus .

 

This announcement is released on April 29th, 2010 and shall be effective for 3 months from its release.
